McMonagle Relay Gala

The gala took place on Sunday 1st December and is swam in memory of John McMonagle who gave many year's service to Garston Swimming Club as Honorary Secretary and Chief Coach.

All the swimmers who attended from local clubs, Crosby, Halton, Bootle, Bridgefield and Liverpool Penguins really enjoyed the relay format and the exciting races they produced. This year Crosby and Halton took the spoils with Crosby winning the Girls competition, the Boys and Girls Cannon Shields and the Mixed Open Cannon Shield and Halton winning the Boys competition and the 9 year olds Mixed Cannon Shield.

From our point of view this being a friendly gala it was the ideal opportunity to give a number of swimmers who don't always get selected for the competitive gala's we swim in the chance to shine.
